Welcome to my post-PAX retrospective! If you’re reading this, there’s a good chance you’re one of the many wonderful people I met there and you probably even playtested Lemon Game! Regardless of how you came to be reading this post, thank you for taking time out of your day to do so and for taking an interest in me and my game design aspirations!
This was my second time at PAX Unplugged and my first time going for more than just a day. It was also my first time having official time slots in the Unpub playtesting room! Three full days of convention took a toll on me and that’s part of why this took so long to write up. I was deep into the red by the time I got home (around 1 am Monday). I kind of still am.
I want to thank everyone for their valuable feedback and for sharing a glass of lemonade over my game! I’ve got a lot of new things to try out and you can be on the lookout for changes coming soon! I also want to thank all of the other designers at Unpub who showed me their games and let me give feedback too! It’s genuinely a pleasure to see what others are coming up with and to be able to give my feedback as well!
To anyone who played Magic with me this past weekend: I’m sorry or you’re welcome, depending on how many prize tickets you got going up against me😜 All the games I played (even the ones I got *crushed* in) were really enjoyable! It was also cool to open Mystery Boosters for the first time!
There wasn’t much time for me to make it to panels but I did get in more playtesting than I thought I would. As I find out about the games I tried going to Kickstarter or releasing, I’ll try to say something here, as there are a few I’m really looking forward to!
Comment below if I tried your game or you gave Lemon Game a spin! I’m already looking forward to next year where I hope to see some returning faces and plenty of new ones at PAX 2023!
